Lab automation company Automed Systems Private Limited announced the launch of Probiosys Center for Excellence with an initial investment of Rs.8 crores which will scale upto Rs 40 – 50 crores over the next three years. Probiosys will be a career advancement center for the pharmaceutical and life science professionals, promoting and facilitating perpetual learning. This center will also act as a technology incubation center with a focus on industrial and workforce interface.
Speaking to the press, Bhanu Prakash, MD & CEO, Automed Systems Private Limited said “With the increasing demand for qualified life sciences professionals in India, the availability of quality talent is decreasing. To minimize this gap, Probiosys is set to impart training in emerging technology, high end automation and international quality procedures for meeting real time industrial and research environment requirements. The course is open to students who have completed their Bachelors in Science, or Masters in Sciences. The institute has a scholarship program, an over 10 % of the annual students are given concession in the fees. International pharmaceutical companies like AES CHEMNEX from France, IDEXX, from the United States and EXCELL TECH from India, who are their knowledge partners, have provided Probiosys with world class automation equipment, and they have also trained Probiosys faculty members over the last 18 months. The equipment provided by these organizations has cut down half its initial costs. The center will not have any exams, and all testing will be done in the form of auditing. Dr. B.Y. Sridhar, the Director of Training at Probiosys said, that automation in the life sciences industry is very important, because it brings about accuracy and better data management. The organization has also organized a back end campus recruitment program for the students who have passed out of the institute, and the natures of courses are such that they need not go for industry exposure.
Probiosys is designed for international standards and compliant with the best practices across industries. The aim is to provide a learning environment that is true to industry experiences using technology that is ahead of current industry standards. With its six international knowledge partners who are best in class innovators, Probiosys has access to latest in technology and science and will use the relationships to create knowledge intensive offsite workshops. The center has a capacity of over 600 students, “it’s sensible to stick to manageable numbers, even though we have the capacity to house over 2000 students. The company’s technical development team in partnership with sector directors and international partners will announce new programs every quarter. Courses will be priced between Rs 25,000 /- to Rs 125,000/- for short term courses and long term courses respectively.
