Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week Kick Starts today!
After a winter/festive edition of BPBFW in July last year, Bangalore Fashion Week returns to showcase the four-day ‘Summer and Shower’ collections to be held from today in one of the star hotels in the city.
The fourth edition of BPBFW for the first time will bring together national and international designers. Some of the big names participating in the event this year are Nita Lulla, Satya Paul and Priya Kataaria Puri and some international designers like Richie Rich and Pam & Arch. This year the theme is set to introduce the concept of showers replacing the season spring with monsoon.
Organizers say that the fashion event is noticing an increase in designer applications and buyer registrations. This season marked an increase of 200 percent in international and domestic buyer company registrations as compared to last season. This reinforces BPBFW’s belief in the strategic shift and the platforms understanding of the market and its business needs. Speaking to media at a press conference, Sajid Mahaja, Marketing Director from Dream Merchants said, “Bangalore Fashion Week has been introducing innovative concepts every year. We are getting overwhelming response each season from the fashion fraternity. The platform is going from strength to strength with each season and we are able to strengthen our position as facilitators in the business of fashion in India.”
This season will exhibit talent of established and emerging designers who will showcase their creativity and designs of summer and monsoon wear, a year round fashion concept. The coming season and years will see an increased exposure for Indian designers to buyers, media and global fashion industry. Speaking about the event, Feroz Khan, Creative Director, Dream Merchants, said, “We have always tried to do something new and creative during each season, and this year too – for the first time – we have got collections from top notch international designers. The mix of these, we hope, will be a booster for business opportunities for designers, stake holders and fashionistas.”
Speaking to mybangalore, Bollywood fashionista Neeta Lulla said, “This is my first time association with BFW”. “Bangalore is a great city, very young and vibrant, which is what makes it special in terms of Fashion. I will be showcasing my Summer Collection this time. It’s not a regular bridal wear, but is very youthful and pretty.” She adds: “Since, it’s the first time that I will be showcasing my collections; I don’t really have a lot of expectations. I can only wait to see how it goes about.”
