Shopping, food and movies at Royal Meenakshi Mall

With malls mushrooming at every nook and cranny in our city, it is certain that Bangalore will soon find its place in list of cities that boast of having the highest number of malls.

Yes yes! Yet another mall opened
in the city and as always this time around too they boast of it being the biggest mall! Oh! C’mon give us a break! Though big in size, it houses the same brands.  So what’s new? Phew! Well these were my thoughts while we were pulling towards Royal Meenakshi Mall. Though its located far away from the city, it was a new mall in town and we just had to see it. Every mall in Bangalore almost caters to the same need when it comes to retail therapy.

Most of the retail units in these malls are what you will find in other malls as well. We went there hoping to see new range of outfits and accessories, but soon realized that it was a sheer waste of time. We saw the same old brands (yawn!) like Mc'Donald's, KFC, Amoeba, Hyper City, Reliance trends, Timeout, Barista, Hyper City, MAX, Lifestyle, Croma, Louis Philippe, Allon Solly, Reebok, Woodlands, Costa Coffee, Levi's, Wrangler, Lee, VIP, The Body shop and many international and national brands.

Royal Meenakshi Mall project is located diagonally opposite to the well known Sri Meenakshi Temple on the Bannerghatta main road. Covering an area of 6 lakhs sq.feet the Mall has nine levels, where four floors are dedicated to bring in the shopaholic in you.  There is an entire floor dedicated to the food court which definitely boats of few of the best restaurants in the city. The main attraction definitely at Meenakshi Mall is the Cinepolis which has seven screens with a seating capacity of 1400 people. They also have a three level parking facility which can accommodate around 1000 cars and 500 motorbikes.

This mall is most convenient for those who live in the vicinity such as J.P.Nagar, B.T.M.Layout, Banashankari, Vijaya Bank Colony and L&T South City. And once the Nice Road is completed the Bannerghatta Road will be well connected to Electronic City and other Industrial and residential areas of Bangalore. The only savior was TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday); We are glad its back and couldn’t be any happier. The dining experience was worth the long drive. We also particularly loved browsing through Croma and it brought out the geek in us. However its another good addition the to ever growing mall culture in Bangalore. Be sure to check it out!
Word Of caution: Never ever think of going to Meenakshi Mall when it is raining you will be stuck in a never ending traffic.
