It was a delightful evening for book lovers who flocked from different parts of the city to Landmark on Monday , May 18th, 09 as Lord Jeffery Archer shared his experience of writing his latest international best seller “Paths of Glory”.

Lord Jeffrey Archer delighted his ardent fans with a special book reading that was a treat of repartee and witty participation from not just the wizard but his fans too. After the lively question and answer round, where he made sure his “mike people”, went made sure that even the audience in the thick of the crowd even got to talk to him. One fan, got the mike and even said , “ Hi, Jeff,!”, to which Lord Archer said, “ I will have my revenge.”

All in all there were high spirits topped off with a book signing. Jeffery Archer , as he asked for people to wind down their questions, as the book signing had to start, promised that he would only sign every book albeit only with his name, keeping in mind that he doesn’t stay back till the wee hours signing books for the packed audience. Bangalore was his last stop where he spoke about the IPL,( about how Rahul Dravid belting it out in the sun for hours was actual cricket and not just the easy 20:20), watching the movie Lagaan the night before , and creating quite a stir in the audience with an impromptu quiz.

Chennai was his first stop for the “Paths of Glory” tour where he launched his 2 most celebrated novels A Twist In The Tale & Not A Penny More, Not A Penny Less in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam,

Commenting on the second innings of The Landmark Jeffrey Archer Tour, Himanshu Chakrawarti, COO, Landmark said, “It was truly an honour for us to have Lord Jeffrey Archer visit our store for the second consecutive year. His fans have loved their experience interacting with him and kept wanting for more. I am glad that we managed to fulfill their dream in such a short span. Through the Landmark Jeffrey Archer Tour we have set high benchmarks for ourselves and we hope to bring forth similar events for all Landmark loyalists.”
“Paths of Glory” is novel is a fictional account of one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in mountaineering history and revolves around the story of George Mallory and his dream of being the first person to climb to the top of Mt. Everest. It's a gripping "What If?" book of what might have happened. “Paths of Glory” is also a toe-curling reminder of the snobbery, chauvinism and favoritism exhibited by the upper classes in England well into the 20th century. Lord Jeffrey Archer has skillfully woven fact with fiction to create an epic tale of one man’s obsession.
