The International Skin & Hair Academy (ISHA) is the country’s professionally managed beauty training institute catering to the demand for Hair Care and Make Up and Beauty Therapy.
Over the years, make up and beauty therapy has become a lucrative career option, making more students take up this form of vocational training being offered by many institutes now. The growing demand mushroomed into a slew of such institutes offering these courses, but, just as many matters managed by the private entity, the vocational training system is full of superlatives and potential on the one hand, and inefficiency, on the other.
ISHA, proves to be a shift from just promised potential to a result and quality driven training programme. It has not only helped students to get quality education in all forms of professional hair care and Beauty Therapy, but has simultaneously helped its students to be more skilful. Just as A.G. Mallika, Head-Academy, adds: “For a beautician it’s very important that she is well educated and informed about the latest happenings, for people are more educated today in terms of beauty and fashion. They know what they want and will never compromise on the quality”. “We teach our students to be confident; and confidence only comes after learning.”
At ISHA, in addition to it's knowledge of the latest techniques, services and equipments, students learn to understand a person’s beauty needs, make assessments in a scientific way and provide personalized solutions. Needless to say, the institute boasts to have well-qualified trainers. “We have a lot of students, who come to us, and they are mostly educated – some even graduates and post graduates. It’s important that we have a very well trained staffs as part of the academia here”. “We make our students work with the latest equipments here, so that they don’t have to face any kind of trouble when they move out looking for a job,” said Mallika. “Our focus is predominantly with Hair, Make Up and Cosmetology. Time has changed, and there is always something new that keeps coming; hence, it becomes utterly important that we walk along with time, catering to the needs of the present time.”
With courses duration ranging between three months to a six-month-course, ISHA emphasizes more on practical-based curriculum. The availability of the state-of-the-art class rooms makes teachings more fun-like and interactive. “We believe in industry-oriented education, which is why we emphasize a lot on practical knowledge rather than theory classes. The balance is maintained, but the former definitely takes the cake,” said Ashok G., Business Head. The academy has got international accreditations from international bodies such as City & Guilds (London) and CIBTAC (UK), which, according to Ashok brings in the continuous thrive to do better. “It’s good to have international accreditations, for it’s not often that we see academy’s like ours to have such associations. We are also associated with L’Oreal Prefossional and Matrix for training and products,” said Ashok.
