Spiritual Leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar survives bid on life
Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankar had a close shave on Sunday evening after an unidentified gunman opened fire at him at around 6 pm near his ashram at Kanakapura Road on the outskirts of the city.

said shortly after the incident. The Art of Living founder is unhurt but his
disciple has been injured in the firing.
One of his devotees who was injured in the attack was discharged after first aid at a local hospital, he said. He sustained a minor injury on the thigh with the bullet brushing past.
Police have said it is too early to comment on the attack on Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar and stated they are looking into all aspects of the incident.

"We are looking into all aspects," Panth said and added that the ashram members had provided information on the incident.
He said security measures have been beefed up. "Yes we have strengthened security".
The Art of Living founder said that his injured disciple was okay now.
Charu said, “The incident took place around 6.15 pm when Sri Sri Ravishankar was returning to his 'Kutir' by car after addressing a gathering at the 'Satsang'.
Sri Sri who addressed the media today said "I am fine; I want the people not to worry. Everything is as usual. There are many people who come here who have been in the path of violence and they have abjured violence, thousands have given up violent lives, so this must have bothered some other people. We continued with our programme as usual. The police are there and they are taking the details and they are investigating. I am not at all worried. He further added “So much violence is happening all over the country and all over the world. In fact, we have to be loud and clear about the violence and we have to be clear about the nonviolence and we have to go towards the more spiritual and peaceful society. You know many people have given up violence.
We have done courses all over the world. This must not have gone well with people, some gang people. I don't know who they are,”
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is the spiritual leader and founder of the Art of Living Foundation. The NGO and its international counterpart -- the International Association for Human Values -- are involved in relief work and rural development across the globe.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is also a strong advocate of yoga as a tool to ward of stress and also solve societal problems. The foundation also runs several schools, Ayurvedic research centres and art schools.
