Heavy rains expected in Bangalore

Heavy down pour will strike Bangalore in the coming four days helping Bangaloreans beat the heat

Bangalore will experience a heavy downpour in the next four days. Statistics claim that the city has already received 166 mm above the average rainfall in the past two months. And now there are predictions of heavy rains in the coming four days.

The cause of these rains are low pressure areas extending from Vidarbha across Telangana and South Karnataka and the air circulation in Lakshwadeep. With only 54.5 mm of rainfall this month which is less than 50 percent on an average in the last 30 years, the next four days will help Bangalore meet the target. These showers and heavy clouding will be a savior from the heat. The temperatures have already dipped down below the normal temperature of 33 degrees Celsius in the last three days. No heat wave is expected to hit the city as the cool monsoons will cover the city in the forthcoming days.

After a cool pre-monsoon, good rains are expected in the active monsoon period. Seven of the thirty districts will experience moderate to heavy rainfall during the ongoing season. These include Uttara and Dakshina Kannada, Udipi, Madikeri,  Chikamaglur, Hasan and Shimoga. According to officials at India Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall will be experienced across the country in the next four months meeting an average of 98 percent (i.e.) 89 cm.
