You want that perfect Indian handicraft
but don't know where you can get it? Want to give a 'truly Indian' wedding gift but don't know how to get it? Then this might be the best news you've heard in a while.
Shopping Angels started by Kaveri Sinhji, a Bangalore based entrepreneur is a unique concept where they work with one goal – to help you find that perfect thing you want.

Shopping Angels has a passionate group of personal shoppers, stylists and guides and also has a range of custom-tailored services just to make your shopping experience all the more interesting. “We have partnership with nearly 700 stores across the city, so customers are entitled to a discount up to 45 per cent when they go shopping with us. A lot of people think Shopping Angels is just for foreigners but we have many Indian customers as well. The savings that they get out of this whole experience is a major attraction,” explains Kaveri.

Currently shopping Angels has three projects, all aimed at helping people in various ways. “The first project is Shopping Angels, where we help out people with touristy shopping and shopping for special occasions. And then there’s Angel explorers where people who wish to explore the city are taken out for sightseeing, culture touring and wildlife adventure trips. And finally, the third project is called Cultural Connections, where we conduct experiential workshops for people wanting to acclimatize to new cultures,” explains Kaveri.

Services other than shopping, are primarily designed for the expat population of the city. Kaveri says “If somebody wants to go see an Indian wedding, all he or she needs to do is give us a call and we’ll take care of everything from then on. We help them right from the clothes to make-up and everything else. Or probably if someone wants to go on a bullock cart ride, we can arrange that as well. I've put in two years of planning into this,”

Their services now extend exclusively to shoppers at the UB City Mall as well; the mall features high-end fashion and lifestyle exclusive stores. “We have tied up with UB city mall, the mall has a lot of high end brands and people are often spoilt for choice and that’s where we pitch in. Tying up with UB city has helped us in many ways, it’s given us more visibility,” Says Kaveri.
Shopping Angels, unlike saleswomen, are professionally trained and are specialists in the areas they handle. “We have over 100 specialized shopping assistants trained in different areas of work,” Says Kaveri.

With everybody — right from the next door neighbour to the media — keeping a tab on how the city’s who’s who are turned out, staying in the loop about fashion is not just a hobby but more of a necessity. And services like that of a personal shopper are a boon for those who always want to be high on the trend-o-meter as the person who is at the helm plays multiple roles - of a personal shopper, designer and styling expert who can make one look their dazzling best no matter what the occasion

The basic fee for these angels is Rs. 500 for an hour of shopping. However, the Shopping Angel in UB City doesn’t charge a fee from customers who go there to splurge.
