Food, coffee, conversations and more at Mocha

We all love our Mocha shakes but the café has much more to offer than you can imagine. Try ‘em the next time you go there.

Bangalore’s all time favorite hangout Mocha
gets new additions to its much loved menu at Lavelle Road and Koramangala Outlets, making it a great place for wholesome yet simple meals. Besides enjoying your coffees and conversations, you can now enjoy a complete three course meal at Mocha. Under Chef Gaurav Gidwani, Mocha introduces a whole range of quick bites along with a variety of main course choices. “The new menu inclusions were made keeping in mind a need for retaining the essence of Mocha favorites while adding some rustic and traditional fare bursting with flavors. The dishes have familiar elements but are tweaked in our signature way. The idea is to give a new age, simple presentations while sticking to the basics,” explains the chef.

For the healthy eaters, the salad bar offers a range of crunchy vegetables and fresh cold cuts along with a host of dressings where you can customize your own salad bowl. We were very tempted to try their new range of starters and the chef recommended the breaded stuffed mushroom and Chicken Kibbeh. And it sounded great to our ears and we couldn’t wait to sample it. While we were awaiting for the starters to arrive right under a jack fruit tree (where we were seated on a perfect balmy afternoon) the chef sent his specials, a snicker chocolate shake which was thick, indeed rich and very creamy.  It was a sheer delight and satisfied the long yearning of chocolates that we were surpassing for months now! (Of course we are health conscious)

We also tried the mango cooler which was a refreshing summer drink. And soon the breaded stuffed mushroom along with mayonnaise made its way to our table. It was a great combination of deep fried bread and mushroom which made for a perfect start to our meal. (Dump your calorie count here) The Chicken Kibbeh looked tempting but the taste was a tad disappointing. We added a pinch of salt and we didn’t complain further.

For the mains we tried the Penne Arrabiata which is red sauce pasta and as the name suggests it was served in penne. The penne blended well in the base and looked very inviting but it was a complete let down as it lacked the tangy taste of tomatoes and was sweet. Even the presentation of food did not impress us either and the Herbed Chicken with Sage Potatoes and Carrots was best left untouched. We are sure the chef’s can do much more with their culinary expertise.  But apart from what we tried you can also try the Fusilli Alfredo with Herbs, Spaghetti Pesto, Burgers and Nacho Chilli, Chicken Aioli, Gnocchi in Sundried Tomato Sauce.  But for us we are more than happy to try their signature maggi, a panini with a masala chai, each time we visit our very own Mocha! And yes the sheesha of course!!! Bliss!
The new menu is available at both the Koramangala and Lavelle road outlets. A meal for two will approximately cost you Rs 850. For details contact: 30224711/ 42110095
