Food Review: Sundays are for culinary experiences at Sheraton Bangalore
The Sunday Brunch at FEAST, Sheraton Bangalore Hotel is an ideal way to spend your weekend.
Sundays are days when you get off the fast lane, wake up late, laze around and look for a lavish meal. And as if we needed another reason to love Sundays, Sheraton Bangalore Hotel, spread out its stylish offerings with the launch of its Sunday Brunch at FEAST - offering an array of distinctive cuisines from all over the world. The launch was made to coincide with Father’s Day, which gave us yet another reason to celebrate. We arrived at the restaurant just in time for the brunch and surprisingly the place was already full with families enjoying the lavish spread. The restaurant is a vibrant, interactive, one-of-a-kind culinary venue with an exciting show kitchen built around the restaurant’s centerpiece wood fired pizza oven.
It offers a tapestry of vibrant décor and culinary delights from around the world, with inspiration from Mediterranean influences as well as specialty-theme buffets.
There was a wide range of Indian and International flavors along with customized live cooking stations and an interesting kid’s buffet. There was also a special private dining room transformed into a wonderland for kids with bean bags, play stations and Wii which housed the specially created kid’s buffet. A live band
entertained the guests while kids played around.
The brunch is clearly designed to impress – from the stunning variety of food to the mouth-watering aromas wafting from numerous live stations, we were truly spoilt for choice. It featured an exceptional selection of premium international gourmet cuisine served with a wide range of sparkling wines; vodka-based drinks, cocktails and mocktails. We started off by trying their in-house special Mojito, which was quite refreshing but was a little too strong for our liking. Their fresh fruit based cocktails were however very innovative and set the mood for the gastronomic experience ahead of us .
With so much food around, we didn’t know where exactly to start so we loaded our plates with whatever seemed appetizing. The antipasti section featured a colourful selection of delectable dishes along with crisp salads, home-baked breads and imported cheeses. We particularly liked their variety of cheeses and bread selection.
There were live cooking stations, where chefs prepared risottos and pasta, with fresh ingredients. Traditional roasts were also available and the smoked beef roast was simply divine. It was cooked to perfection and had a beautiful woody flavour to it. There was also an exquisite assortment of seafood, and the spicy King Fish fry and the luscious coconut-gravyed Meen Moily served with buttery soft rotis were the highpoint of the meal (we love our Indian food any day)
If you’re not an Indian food lover, the brunch also offers an array of other dishes, from the Kebabs, Chilla, Daals, Quesadillas, Fajitas to Thai temptations and Chinese delicacies. The extraordinary meal ended on a high note with an array of heavenly desserts and ice creams. Ice Cream Teppanyaki took the whole meal to another level. The chef readily churned out various delicious combinations, we thoroughly enjoyed the mix of chocolate and coffee ice cream served with roasted nuts, marshmallows and chocolate sauce . Feast has an enchantingly sophisticated atmosphere, thoughtful and excellent service and an elaborate fare. This brunch promised to be a single stop for entertainment, global cuisine, celebration and joyful relaxation.
