Walk to abolish child labour on June12

June 12 is observed as Anti Child Labour Day around the globe
.Did you know that India has the highest number of child labourers in the world. Children are forced out of school and compelled to work by circumstances and systems that deprive them of several rights. In an effort to contribute towards awareness against child labour, Bangalore will see an awareness walk on June 12 to mark World Anti Child Labour Day. This walk is organized by the Department of Labour, in association with the Bangalore Urban and Rural District Administration.

The walk will start from Gandhi Statue at MG road to Kanteerva Stadium. The event will be flagged off by Minister for Labour and Sericulture B.N. Bache Gowda. The program at Kanteerva stadium will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Law and Justice M. Veerappa Moily. The walk from Gandhi Statue MG road starts at 9 AM.
