What is CraftMyGift is all about? How did the idea emerge?
CraftMyGift is a company which creates unique and meaningful gifts which are sure to make the other person feel touched. CraftMyGift is not just a gift creator but also a gift advisor who understands human emotions well and can suggest perfect gifts for different relationships.
The idea emerged as a combination of my personal passion in creating unique gifts for friends as well as a gap in the market when someone wants to gift something very unique and special to a loved one. CraftMyGift started with a vague idea of being in the gifting domain but the services and offerings got more crystallized with time and as we started servicing clients.
What are the services you are currently offering under this umbrella?
CraftMyGift offers creation of unique and customized gifts.Some people come to us with suggestion on what they can gift to someone. We help them with multiple gift ideas and according to their choice create the gift for them. Some people have already thought of what they want but not sure where they can get it created. We help those people refine their gift idea and also create it for them. Our gifts ranges from a personal story books on people to artistic portraits drawn from photos, from unique concepts like a personal magazine on a couple to work place gifts like a farewell mug for a team member leaving the company. Our gifts are not limited to what you see on the website but we very often create new gifts specially suited for a particular customer.

Who are your customers? What types of people come to you?
Our customers are people who want to add a lot of value to the gifts for their loved one giving them something that is unique and will last a lifetime. Our customers are mainly working professionals who are looking for gifts for their close friends and family. We also cater to the corporate segment especially to those companies who are looking for some refreshing gift ideas.
Customers for such niche services are always limited (i.e. a particular city like Bangalore).
How do you plan to identify and target the new customers?
On the contrary, I see a huge demand for such gifts all over India. Since people buy gifts quite often, they are always on lookout for something different. The challenge for us right now is to reach out to more and more people by making them aware of our existence. This will happen though marketing as well as word of mouth. Instead of identifying specific customers our efforts right now is to market our website through online marketing methods to let more people know about us. We are also creating specific solutions portfolio for corporate and students and will be approaching them directly through various programs.

How do you differentiate your services compared with say photo print service providers (like GK Vale) offer?
CraftMyGift is not restricted to photo printing service alone. Our USP lies in creating refreshing gifting ideas and the depth of customization we do is unmatched by GK Vale or Printo. In fact we work with GK Vale and Printo for our printing needs as that is not our specialty. We are gift experts who work with customers to conceptualize and design unique gifts for them. In case someone wants a simple photo or logo to be printed on a product, we don’t take these orders and advice the client to approach Printo as they can get a better deal there.
How are you funded? Can you please provide some details about your team?
We are self funded currently. We have a core team of 4 people which consists of designers, management experts and operations people. We extensively work with freelancers like caricature artists, portrait artists, copywriter and web marketing advisors.
What are your future plans? What type of new/additional services you are planning to introduce?
We are constantly working towards creating a brand out of CraftMyGift and creating an awareness of our services. We are also working towards signing up some corporate clients. We are planning to expand our arms into college campuses by creating college ambassadors for CraftMyGift who work with us in creating gifts for college students. We are looking into some more domains like wedding gifts.
