Automated two-wheeler parking system to ease parking woes
Bangaloreans now need break their heads for parking their two-wheelers as BBMP (Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike) is all set to introduce a multi-storeyed two-wheeler parking system in the city.
The idea of automated two-wheeler parking system conceptualized by BBMP Commissioner H Raja Simha will soon turn to be a boon for Bangaloreans. The two-wheeler automated parking system that will be completely built with steel can accommodate 80 two-wheelers at a time. Some of the advantages of this service include accommodation of more vehicles in a small space, hassle-free footpath, investment through advertisements and shelter for vehicles.
“The BBMP can allow the walls of this multi-storied parking lot for advertisements. This will get their money back within a year of investment. Such type of two-wheeler parking facility is ideal to construct near Metro stations. The BBMP Commissioner, Mayor and the Council have agreed to this proposal. It is the first of its kind and I have received patent for this idea,” Simha said.
There will be 10 tiers and each tier will be able to accommodate eight two-wheelers. “The idea of automated two-wheeler parking system is ideal and it will certainly reduce the parking problems. In fact, this is the need for the hour,” said Praveen Sood, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
