BFW: Meet the young and promising designer duo

“Designing is a part of life. We both are
passionate about designing. We love it and live for it,” claim Zainub Ashraf and Ashissh Sharma who are the creators of the brand called ‘AZ Couture’. While Zainub who graduated from INIFD ( International Institute of Fashion Designing) has been working as an In-house designer for Bollywood choreographer Ahmed Khan for last 5 years , Ashissh‘s passion for designing won him accolades from people in the fashion industry.

He was also the winner of MTV – On the job (Designer episode). He later joined Ahmed Khan and has been working with Zainub for last one and a half years. They have a long list of clientele and have also designed for prominent stars from South Indian film industry like Pavan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Simbu, Anushka Shetty, Nikasha and many more.

1. What are you planning to showcase at BFW?
Our collection is based on the indo-western theme.  So, the dresses we will showcase will have a twist of both traditional and modern aspects.

2. What are your expectations from BFW?
Since, it’s our first professional show, we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best. We do expect that our collection will garner praises from buyers and the audience.

3. What are the hot and happening colors this season?
Neutral shades that are neither too loud nor dull are happening this season.  Even metallic and silver shades are doing pretty well in the Indian fashion scene.

4. Your take on the Bangalore fashion scene?
We love the Bangalore crowd as they are fashion-forward and appreciate new concepts. It’s really a privilege to showcase our collection here.

5. Favourite designers?
Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra And Rocky.

6. Can you give us one fashion tip to our readers?
To look chic and fashionable, you can team up polo-neck shirts with high –waist jeans and finish the look with a killer pair of heels.
