Food Review: Grilled, barbequed and flambéed meal at Olive Beach

The Grill Festival celebrates all things grilled, barbequed and flambéed exclusively at Olive Beach.

“The Steak and Pudding Festival”; is a celebration of all things grilled, barbequed and flambéed. The festival offers foodies an opportunity to feast on a selection of unmatched imported meats served with the finest exotic vegetables in a range of delectable grilled and barbequed dishes.

Executive Chef Manu Chandra, Chef Prashanth, Chef Tanmoy and his team have put their spin on the classic art of grilling. Their marinated efforts are to devour for. The extensive menu can definitely leave you exhausted but is bound to take you on a never like before culinary experience. We began our meal with a Grilled Artichoke and Roasted Beet Salad - organic lettuce, grain mustard dressing and shaved fontal cheese. It was an explosion of flavours. We also tasted the Grilled Asparagus with Poached Egg - which was grilled to perfection and tossed with truffle oil. Served with a creamy Manchego cheese sauce, poached egg and black pepper the dish made was a perfect appetizer.

For the mains we then sampled the Rib Eye Steak - prime rib cut of Angus beef, marinated and grilled to order with Patagonian potatoes, sautéed haricot and three pepper sauce or the Aberdeen Black Angus Eye fillet- The tenderloin from these highly prized cattle has been part of folklore and food lore for eons. So good was the flavour and the texture that we were totally satiated . We also tried the Barbecue Pork Chops and Bratwurst Sausage Platter which truly impressed us.

Juicy flavours captured through the fine art of grilling, succulent imported and prime cuts of meat adds a whole new twist to the dinning experience. Olive Beach’s charming outdoors and culinary expertise is perfectly suited to rediscovering scents and flavors of the live barbeque. The restaurant has a warm and inviting appeal, and its distinctive rustic charm is perfect for spending moments of pure culinary.  We then chose to end out gourmet experience on a sweet note with Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffle - classic flavours of peanut butter and chocolate, peanut butter mousse and dark chocolate cream is a delight you simply cannot miss.

The Baked Alaska - a retro visit to a decadent combination of vanilla bean, café hazelnut and wild berry gelatos is also a must try. Though we were stuffed with all the eating we couldn't resist and indulged in the other varieties of desserts such as Banana Foster - Grilled Banana upside down, in house vanilla gelato which is served with butterscotch sauce was a sinful bite. To savour the authentic flavours of grilled, barbequed and flambéed delicacies head to Olive Beach. Bon Appetite!
