What’s the fuss about Google+?
Facebook and Twitter are a passe now....Welcome the new age networking site -- Google+ which has become the talk of the town.
It’s not that we were any short of social networking sites that yet another one makes its way promising ‘something’ that the other networking sites failed to offer its users in the past. On June 28, 2011, Google launched its social networking site Google + which instantly became a rage among people across the globe. The internet giant is all set to haul out a sweet revenge on Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook which almost wiped out Orkut from the social media map. So, what is about Google + that makes it’s a better medium for social networking?
“With the other popular networking sites there were a lot of security issues when it came to sharing information. People now think twice before sharing a social networking site because they have their extended family on their lists. But in Google + information can be controlled,” says Zeeshan Shariff, Account Manager, Google who is also one of the early users of Google+. He further adds, “On Facebook one ends up over sharing and on Twitter one ends up under sharing. The controlled information on Google+ is undoubtedly one of its biggest USP.”
Below mentioned are a few enticing features from Google+:
+Circles: Just within you specified circle
On a social networking site we often end up sharing a plethora of information to the whole world (mostly without our knowledge) which often lands up in a soup. But in Google + you can very easily control the information and share it just among the specified circle of friends and family.
+Sparks: Learn more about your own obsession
This feature of Google + will definitely find many takers. It’s a space about where you can turn your liking into an obsession. Be it sports, car or fashion. Just update your ‘spark’ and before you even realize it would have ignited a lot of interest. “Sparks delivers a feed of highly contagious content from across the Internet. On any topic you want, in over 40 languages. Simply add your interests, and you’ll always have something to watch, read and share—with just the right circle of friends,” states the official blog.
+Hangouts: Share, talk and laugh
“This is clearly one of the features that I love about Google +. Hangout is a video conference where you can invite upto 15 people to come together for a face to face conversation. And it’s so unique and the conversations are extremely impromptu and funny,” says Zeeshan who is totally hooked to his ‘hangout’.
“With Google+ we wanted to make on-screen gatherings fun, fluid and serendipitous, so we created Hangouts. By combining the casual meet up with live multi-person video, Hangouts lets you stop by when you're free, and spend time with your Circles,” the official Google blog states.
+Instant Upload: Click click and share
Never leave a clicked photo just within the parameters of your phone. Share it with the world who would relate to the picture at the same time keeping it away from the evil eyes.
+Huddle: Jam Up
Google+ includes Huddle, a group messaging experience that lets everyone inside the circle know what's going on, just the very moment.
By now we are very sure that you are drooling over the features of Google+ and wondering why you still haven’t received an invite to join the most happening social networking site? Hang on! Last week when Google allowed current users of Google+ to invite whomever they wish. This was a mayhem that they couldn’t handle, may be Mark Zuckerberg invited all his Facebook friends to join Google+!
