But, now they can breathe a sigh of relief as Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) is all set to replace sewage pipelines on Richmond Road from Trinity Circle to Hosmat Circle.

The board got into action mode following frequent complaints from public about clogging of drains. The work will start this week with the laying of 450 mm diameter pipelines for a length of one kilometre at a cost of Rs 98 lakh. According to BWSSB officials, the pipelines are over 50 years old and need to be immediately replaced.

BWSSB is also undertaking the replacement project for Thippasandra Main Road to Indiranagar 80 Feet Road where existing 450 mm diameter pipelines will be replaced with 600 mm diameter lines leading to a sub-main. The pipelines will be replaced for 500 meters in the area at the cost of Rs 40 lakh. The scene at Thippasandra is also the same and following persistent requests from the residents, BWSSB finally decided to take the action and sought the permission from BBMP and traffic department.
