Vodafone 3G services enter Bangalore

The 3G service
that has caught the fancy of all the cell phone users in India is here to stay! Vodafone Essar Ltd has now introduced 3G services in Bangalore much to the delight of Vodafone customers in the city. The new service is launched through an intra circle roaming agreement with Airtel, as it does not have 3G spectrums in the circle. The service will enable customers to enjoy mobile TV, video calling, high-speed downloading, high-definition gaming, etc at standard local rates within the circle for Voice and Data as per their chosen plan.

SB P Singh, chief executive officer, Vodafone Karnataka said, "We expect a strong uptake and high demand for these 3G services and we welcome all our customers to faster, smarter, better world of 3G. There are numerous avenues for the consumers to have faster access to entertainment, better fulfillment of their information needs and a smarter way to communicate, while on the go."

Vodafone will also launch 3G in other towns and cities in Karnataka in a phased manner over the coming months. While prepaid users can access Vodafone with a minimum recharge of Rs 28, for 28 MB data for day, postpaid customers will get plans starting from Rs 100 for which they will get 100 MB data for 30 days. The latter will have to pay only 2 paisa per 10 KB for free bundled data.
