Scuba Diving
The Bangalore Dive Club, which is open to all certified divers and non-divers with an interest in the sport, gives a social platform to bring collective strength to efforts to provide opportunities for safe and enjoyable diving experiences, professional dive education and conservation of underwater ecology. The club formally opened its doors on June 14, 2009, with the launch supported by Karnataka's Tourism Department and Planet Scuba India, the country's first inland scuba diving centre.

Planet scuba India, which has created a dive centre in Indiranagar, offers theory classes and then pool training to get you familiarized before heading to the ocean. Planet Scuba India is India’s first inland dive school under the globally recognised PADI system of scuba training. The undertaking was started as a forum for Scuba enthusiasts to address their interest and discover the underwater world in a safe, fun and educational manner.

Whether you are a first timer wanting to understand the art and science of diving or a regular diver looking for a particular product they will be able to deliver- for all your diving related needs at the most competitive rates. As a diving institute they offer, swimming and diving lessons in Bangalore itself tweaked to fit your schedule and all diving related equipment including brands such as Aqualung, ScubaPro and Mares. So what are you waiting for? Just put on the diving gear and learn the safety tips and head to dive centres. Even if you are an amateur or a professional the underwater experience will be exciting.

Bungee Jumping
If you want to experience an adrenaline rush this weekend, nothing can be more adventurous than bungee jumping. Bungee can be classified in the category of sports, which, to put simply, is the name of courage under fire. Falling from a height of around 120 to 700 feet and bunging up and down is only for those who have no love lost for their life! However, on a realistic plane, there is only an iota of risk involved in this game as most of the organizations that hold such events maintain high quality of professionalism.

Bungee jumping was commercialized in the mid-eighties, and within a few years, became quite popular in Europe and North America. In India, bungee jumping came in the early 1990s. Today, most of the Indian metros have bungee jumping sites and more and more people are taking to this adventure sport. Ozone is an adventure sports club based in Bangalore that conducts bungee jumping from a height of 80 feet. The jumping pad is stationed at Kanteerava Stadium.

At Ozone, safety is given priority. The entire equipment is fastened to a 130-foot-high crane. Anybody between18 and 60 years are allowed to try this sport. However, those below 14 will have to get a letter from their parents or get a letter stating that they are allowed to perform bungee jumping. Also those who wish to try this sport should wear sports shoes and not drink alcohol before performing the act. Expectant mothers, those suffering from high blood pressure, etc, are advised not to participate.

Paragliding
Ever wanted to glide through the air with the wind rushing past you? If soaring the heights has always been your dream, your destination can just be a jump away! Paragliding, a weekend sport that’s slowly catching on with the city folks who would not miss a chance of coursing through the dizzying heights. Paragliding is a recreational and competitive flying sport. A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing, whose shape is formed by its suspension lines and the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing.

Though this is not a sport for the fainthearted or people suffering from vertigo, yet, with a reasonable level of fitness one can go through a few days of training in assembling and dismantling the aircraft, flying and landing techniques, safety precautions, before one reaches vertiginous heights. Bangalore has quite a few places that enable one to indulge in the sport. The nearest port of fall could be Nandi Hills, one hour’s drive from the city. Thrill seekers take the plunge off the hill and kiss the wide open terrain below amidst petrified cattle and bemused village folk.
