Some Common Problems and their easy Home Remedies
Acne is a condition that affects teenagers, b ut in advanced cases can go well into their twenties as well. The condition occurs when the skin surface gets inflamed due to blockages below the skin in the follicles. This turn into putules which can become inflamed and can also cause scarring. Acne is one of those dreaded skin diseases that maybe be genetic, and appears on your face which can cause irritation as well as grief.
Treatment: Prepare a paste by mixing equal quantities of saffron, turmeric (haldi), margosa (neem), red sandalwood, basil (Tulsi) and fuller’s earth (multani mitti) with buttermilk or milk. Apply twice a day.
When there is a reduced supply of red blood cells or hemoglobin in the blood. This is normally due to a deficiency in the body. Hemoglobin is carries oxygen to the lungs, so the deficiency leads to reduced fresh oxygen, which is why people who are anemic may look sallow or pale the advanced conditions can affect the heart. Vague bruises, feeling of nausea pain in the limbs and swelling are sings to look out for.
Treatment: Have one bowlful of pomegranate, with a dressing of one teaspoon of lime juice for breakfast.
LOSS OF APPETITE
Though most of us have a healthy appetite, a loss of appetite does affect people, which leads to all sorts of deficiencies and problems as they are not consuming the nutritional requirements of the body, which can cause a lack of stamina, anemia like condition, hair fall, bad breath, and excessive weight loss.
Treatment: Prepare a mixture of ¼ teaspoon of ginger juice, ¼ teaspoon of lime juice, and a pinch of rock salt. This is one dose. Have this preparation 15 minutes before meals, twice a day.
People living in Bangalore complain more of asthma, than any other India city. This is caused by an obstruction in the breathing passages in the body. The symptoms including, wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, tightness in chest. These symptoms are aggravated by climate, pollen in the air or strenuous exercise, or even stress. This is normally treated with a nebuliser taken at the time of the attack. But the recommended treatment is long term attention. Regular inhalation also helps to clear out the lungs and blockages.
Treatment: Boil ½ teaspoon of freshly-grated ginger in a glass of milk and add ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder to it. Have it twice a day, preferably with one teaspoon of chyavanprash.
This is caused by the inflammation of the mucous membrane in the bronchi that obstruct airflow from the trachea to the lungs. This normally causes a heavy cough which could produce mucous. This kind of infection formally occurs as an advanced viral infection like the flu or a bad cold or chronic runny nose.
Treatment: Prepare a mixture of powdered dried ginger root, black pepper, and long pepper in equal amounts and store in an airtight container. Have ½ teaspoon of this powder mixed with ½ teaspoon of honey twice a day with lukewarm water.
This is a chronic neck pain degeneration in the vertebrae and discs as we become older. As the 'discs' degenerate, over many years they become thinner. Sometimes the adjacent vertebrae develop small, rough areas of bone on their edges. The nearby muscles, ligaments, and nerves may become irritated by these degenerative changes which can cause troublesome symptoms.
Tratment: Make a powdered preparation of dried ginger root, celery (Sahalari) seeds, and cumin seeds in equal quantities. Add rock salt to taste, and have one teaspoon with water at bedtime.
Sometimes we all just get exhausted!
Take 4-5 dates along with lukewarm milk. This helps to revitalize the energy level and helps to overcome fatigue.
Conjunctivitis is the inflammation around the eyes, like a boil. This is caused by an infection or the onset or a symptom of a a viral fever which may or may not lead to a fever.
Treatment: Soak ½ teaspoon of Triphala powder in a glass overnight, and in the morning filter it through four folded cloths. Use this water to wash your eyes.
With the irregular sleep hours and even more irregular eating habits and timings, there is a chance of sometimes the bowel movements get restricted., Not going to the bathroom can make one uneasy and make it difficult to be able to go about your daily tasks. Regular Yoga and exercising helps to counter Constipation.
Treatment:Drink a glass of lukewarm water with 1-2 teaspoons of honey in it 3-4 times a day.
Not drinking enough water, being out in the sun or on your feet for long hours can cause dehydration. The symptoms include feel nausea or even feeling faint. In advanced dehydration, you can even develop a fever.
Treatment:Take 2-3 tablespoons of coriander powder in a vessel; pour 10 cups of boiling water in it. Set it aside for 4-5 hours or overnight. In the morning, mash it and add 5 teaspoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of black salt. Have this 4-5 times a day or as frequently as possible. This is a very good remedy to replenish lost water, and it also has a cooling effect on the body.
