Daniel Hechter now in Bangalore
European fashion now has a new destination in the city.
French designer Daniel Hechter’s name is synonymous with the invention of prêt a porter or ready to wear. The well known French brand launched its first exclusive showroom in the city on 100ft road in Indiranagar. Located above the Indigo Nation showroom, the label has plans to introduce its tag of ‘creative fashion’ to the style conscious male in the city.
Hecter created the brand in 1962 in Paris, with a goal of offering affordable, yet wearable high fashion clothing to a wide range of consumer groups. The brand which has been retailing in Bangalore Central and Pantaloons will now be available under one roof. The store houses men’s wear for the mid segment (30 -50 years) and a wide range of accessories, which are an integral part of Hechter’s fashion label.
The French brand was launched by Indus League Clothing Pvt Ltd a unique brand lifestyle marketing firm. A fashion show choreographed by Rakesh Shetty was held to celebrate the launch of the store. Models walked the mini ramp showcasing semi-casual and formal clothing from Daniel Hechter’s latest range. Shirts in stripes and white teamed with formal low waist trousers spelt comfort and style. Also spotted on the ramp was the classic white cotton shirt which was given an interesting twist with a black imprint of designer Hechter’s face. The imprinted shirt perfect for the Bangalore weather was from the brand’s latest logo collection.
Tanguy Mulliez, International License Director of Daniel Hechter who was present at the launch spoke about the brand that combines comfort with style. “In India we have our presence felt in 30 outlets. We launched two exclusive stores in Mumbai and Gurgaon, and this launch makes it our third exclusive store in the country.” he said. The brand is also looking at opening more exclusive showrooms in Hyderabad, Chennai to ensure the brand stands apart.
On display in the showroom are formal and semi formal wear. Striped cotton shirts in pastel shades and casual cotton tees with collars played it safe with basic mono-colour combinations. The suits were in sober tones of black, charcoal and steel grays. The brand that believes accessorising as a must had on display belts, cuff links, wallets which are available at the store. Special mention needs to made to the range of ties on offer in paisley prints and bright colours. A detail for style, fit and fine tailoring are what the clothes are all about.
The exclusive store will be housing the latest collections of the brand as and when they are launched in Europe.
