Wipro conducted the Fourth edition of its ‘Spirit of Wipro Run’ last weekend, an annual event to celebrate and share its values with the employees and families. Bangalore city saw 4500 participate in the run.

The event was a simultaneous flag-off across 10 cities namely, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Mumbai, Noida, Mysore and Amsterdam and saw an overall participation from more than 7000 Wiproites and their family.

The theme for this year’s run was ‘Fun, Fitness and Green’.  As a part of the Ecoeye charter (Ecoeye is a corporation wide initiative on ecological sustainability), an attempt was made to make the event as green as possible. Some of the measures taken include online registration for participants and avoiding the use of promotional posters to reduce the usage of paper.

The ‘Spirit of Wipro’  is Wipro values articulated as - ‘Intensity to Win’, ‘Act with Sensitivity’ and ‘Unyielding Integrity’. These represent what Wipro stands for.

The registration fee received from every participant would be utilized towards a green project by Wipro Cares (Wipro Cares is an initiative by the Wiproites to contribute in the areas of community and social development). Also for every participant that runs, a tree will be planted across Wipro’s campuses.

Wipro strongly believes in building sustainability and it is in ingrained in our values”
