Kannada On Campus to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava

The Rajyotsava Day is the state festival of Karnataka and is observed on November 1st every year as the Karnataka Formation Day. Kannada on Campus will celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava along with its official launch.

Kannada on Campus is a student
organization that promotes Kannada Culture among College goers in Bangalore .It does so by publicizing Kannada related event happening in one college in all the other colleges in the city, through monthly released poster. On November 1st, Kannada on Campus will celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava along with its Official Launch. The event will happen at Vijay College Of Music Hall located at #53 8th Main 4th Block Jayanagar, near BDA complex.

This programme includes Yakshagana, a thriving art tradition of the State of Karnataka, with a classical background. What makes it a vibrant and vigorous living form of theatre art is an amalgam of traditional music, appealing costumes, authentic styles of dance, gestures and dialogues. It will also include Bhavageetha performance and a photography exhibition. Apart from this is the Official Launch of the organisation.

This programme aims at using this day as an opportunity to re-ignite interest in the diverse world of Kannada culture among students. It also provides a platform to exhibit unexplored talents of various students. The event is open to all irrespective of age or linguistic background and, thus, aims at bringing people together.

Kannada Rajyotsava is celebrated on November 1st every year. This was the day in 1956 when all the Kannada speaking regions of south India were merged to form the state of Karnataka. Kannada is one of the major Dravidian languages of India, spoken predominantly in the southern state of Karnataka. It is the 27th most spoken language in the world, with native speakers called Kannadigas. It is one of the Official languages of India and the official and administrative language of the state of Karnataka.
