All set for the beach

Bangalore can be well proud of Anjaan who’s made it to the Top 50 of a unique competition called the ‘World’s Best Job’.

Some know him as a cute face but most know him as RJ Anjaan of Radio One. He’s the man who rules the radio channel’s roost from 9 pm to 12 midnight. Most importantly he’s from Bangalore. RJ Anjaan, has been selected to be amongst the top 50 who’ll run for the ‘World’s Best Job’, a promotional by Queensland tourism where the winner will need to act as the caretaker for Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and be a beach sport for six whole months, all the while looking at a prize money of no less than 50 lakhs!

“It’s a huge thing for me. To be selected from amongst lakhs of entries is no easy task. It was on the basis of a video that the applicants were chosen. Each of us had to show why we are best for the job. My video had me swimming everywhere”, says Anjaan smilingly. Along with him the only other Indian who has been chosen is ex- Channel V VJ Kim Jagtiani.

“After the Top 50 comes the Top 11 who get to stay in Hamilton Island for a week’s time. In order to reach that level, though, I’ll need to have votes going for me”, adds Anjaan.

So what are the first few things that Anjaan wants to do once he reaches Hamilton Island. “The first thing I’d do is to figure out how to see most of the Great Barrier Reef within the time I have in hand. The next thing would be to spread the message of the bio- diversity of the region and make people aware. The other things include the usual fun activities like beach bumming, snorkeling, scuba diving and parasailing”, states the RJ. And why does he think he could be the best man to win? “It’s simply because I love talking and traveling and that’s precisely what this job will make me do”, he signs off.

You can vote for Anjaan till the 24th of March once every twenty four hours.
