Art Buzz in the city
Come April and Bangalore is all set to witness three big art shows in the city. The ongoing National Art week is an initiative by Delhi based Lalit Kala Academi and Bangalore’s very own Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat. This event will feature film shows, art presentations by art critics, seminars and also art exhibition titled ‘Space and Race’. The group art exhibit will feature Ankur Khare, A Rajeshwara Rao, Sajay Sengupta, Veejayant Dash and renowned artists. Art enthusiast can head to CKP to catch the art fever at the National Art Week.
India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) will organise, ‘Big Picture – Art, Artists, India Foundation for the Arts which will for first time set the stage for so many artists to come together. This exhibit will feature 63 works of 57 artists such as Zakkir Hussain, Vinay Mahidhar, Zubin Pastakia, Swapan Nayak, Shahid Datawala, Saibal Das, Ravi Shankar S, Ryan Lobo, Raghu Rai , Gulammohammed Sheikh and many others. Put together by art collector and curator Abhishek Poddar the artists will donate the proceedings of this show either in part or full to the IFA. The show will open on April 5th at ITC Winsor and will continue till April 8th after which the show will shift premises to Gallery Sumukha from April 10th to April 15th.
Crimson Art Resource is also set to organise a group show this month at The Hatworks Boulevard. The show will feature 14 artists and will be on till the end of April.
