FUEL for Bangalore

A pit stop for Fashionistas in Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad is now ready to FUEL Bangalore. FUEL-The Fashion Store was launched in Bangalore on a cool starry evening at The Hatworks Boulevard. With Bangalore swish set being treated to a out door setting ala Goa Style, a make shift fashion show also upped the ante for the evening and the launch of FUEL. Designer Nirmitha Lalwani was also introducing her collection at the FUEL store… Bangalore’s favorite Fashionistas like Sheetal Sharma, Dia bhandary and Rakhi Lalwani stepped out in Nirmitha’s Victorian-style dresses and did justice to launch of FUEL as well as Nirmitha’s dreamy collection. mybangalore.com spoke with the Proprietor Falguni Jhaveri about the launch of FUEL in Bangalore.

Why choose Bangalore now in terms of a launch?
FALGUNI: After we set up out Mumbai stores in 2003 Pune and Ahmedabad followed.  From the beginning we planned to open up stores in all the major cities of India. Stores and Chennai and Hyderabad are now next on the locations for FUEL. We plan to have a presence in all these cities with our multiple designer stores. Fuel offers Big labels as well as small names which opens up the options in terms of Price as well as Style for our customers.

So what is FUEL’s USP?
When Sushil and I first set up FUEL we were showcasing Big Labels like Rohit Bal along with the smaller newer designers. Our idea for this was the younger designers needed a platform. We also wanted to give people a place to shop where they could get fashion forward styles which could also suit their budgets. We stock newer talented designers whose prices are more comfortable for the regular shopper. We also believe that the newer designers infuse freshness into their collections. Which at times are more interesting and creative than bigger labels. Then again bigger labels have their niche, their larger set ups which means their designs do come at a premium and for a certain buyer.

Will FUEL be open to promoting newer designers like Nirmitha Lalwani?
Of course. We started showcasing and giving a platform to younger designers even before the FDCI and Wills Lifetyle Fashion week started their supporting new Emerging Designers. For a designer to take part in a Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week or a Lakme India Fashion week, they have to have retailed with a Fashion Store for at least 2 years. If the young talent it not giving the platform that we are making available, there would be no way for them to take part in the Fashion Week and become a part of the industry. There is a whole influx of new styles and fresh ideas with opening up the arena to the new trendsetters. Nirmitha Lalwani has been retailing with us for the last year and a half. She has now had the opportunity to develop clients and her style. Her work is being recognized and we are happy to have a part in her career.

In terms of New Styles what can we expect at FUEL?
We will continue to showcase the new designer’s as well the prominent designers. Also, in terms of retail people are looking to be able to afford designer clothes without having to worry about their purchsase. FUEL will continue to be a comfortable place for people to shop at. Plus in Bangalore we are aware we have great location at The Hatworks Boulevard where people enjoy coming by to shop.

FUEL is situated at The Hatworks Boulevard, No 32 Cunningham Road, Bangalore-52
