Nova powered Bangalore Huduku

People in college go through the spectrum, not knowing what to do, to wanting to do something insanely different. A group of young turks from BMS college of Engineering have managed to pull of the latter with great flair and hoopla. An event none the less, A Bangalore wide Treasure Hunt to be precise. MyBangalore presents to you team Nova and their brainchild Bangalore Huduku.

This enterprising brunch with a “keeda” to do something unconventional, out of the box and something that had a wide reach were inspired by the Amazing Race. Slightly disturbed that nothing like this happens on a level where most people can participate they took this concept to their college- BMS college of Engineering. ‘Huduku’ which literally translates into “search” in Kannada was born out of the need for “something to do”, and something that would get people involved.

After two successful college treasure hunt events the Core team consisting of the charming Abhishek, the ideating Nithish, the always smiling Nida along with marketing man Ranjan, gave shape to Nova the company under which Bangalore Huduku was to flag off.

Nova will now be hosting a Bangalore city wide treasure hunt, called Bangalore Huduku at the Rock Ethos event which is being held in the city. The treasure hunt is expected to flag off on 15th March ’09 at 10:00am (Sunday Morning).

Bangalore Huduku, broken down….

Huduku is an all Bangalore treasure hunt and is organized by Nova. It is a fast paced and fun event. 15 cryptic clues, 15 pit-stops, your route, your loot! There will be tasks and gambles in the last few pit-stops to make the entire experience more interesting, challenging and a memorable one.

Each participating team must consist of 2 members. Any mode of transport can be used to move around in Bangalore, but the teams using vehicles must carry a valid driving license and valid vehicle documents.

On the 15th of March, all the participants start from palace grounds at 10 am sharp. They move on to subsequent pit-stops depending on how fast they are at de-crypting the clues and how fast they are able to navigate themselves to their destinations. The guess is that the first team to finish the race should not take more than 3 hours.

Nova promises several innovative events that are bound to attract the attention of many. They are looking at exciting times ahead with many events in the pipeline. The team is eager to explore and define newer horizons of Event Management.

So drop all other mundane plans on Sunday and head out to Gayathri Vihar Palace Grounds. So that you can maybe infuse some excitement back on a dull day and also have a chance at winning a neat sum of cash.

Nova core team members are:
Nitish Manohar, Abhishek R, Nida Sahar, Rajan Jagannathan, Shyam.B, Kruthi A N, Jeevitha Reddy, Balram, Krishna Bharadwaj and Darshan.

The event totally sucked. We were asked to come at 9AM (I reached at 8:30AM). When we started, it was 12 in the noon. The worst part is that MOST of us never got to even complete all the clues. We reached the 6th clue and found 4 more teams waiting there (few more came there later) to see that there was no one to give us the next clue. One of them told us that those who were supposed to be there left as some 50 teams had already completed the 15 clues. When has treasure hunting been about winning. Its all the fun of going through the whole thing and finding the treasure. Its never been about winning. I've gone to many such events before and they were organized much better. We rarely get to do these things here in Bangalore and it really is very disappointing if it ends up like this.
