On Ariel Safari

Meet Varun HB, an IT professional by occupation and a photographer by passion. He tells Ashish Saraf how he intends to bring environmental awareness through his photography.

Varun took up the camera just a year back. But his pictures are good enough make you believe that he has been a professional photographer for several years. His body of work comprises an assortment of different bird species, including some which are very rarely found and most of these are shot in and around Bangalore city.

Your work suggests that you are passionate about birds.
I love to shoot wildlife in general. Birds are something I find very attractive and challenging to shoot. I consider it to be the toughest genre in photography. India has 1300 plus species, many of which are endemic to our country. So, there are endless opportunities to shoot birds here.

Does being in Bangalore help you even further?
Bangalore is a great city to shoot, specially if you are into wildlife photography. We have some of the best sanctuaries and forest reserves around the city. Moreover, the city is very well connected with all these places, hence, quite easy to travel.
