Romance Abstract Art in ‘Vichitra’
Magnitude Gallery, India’s first ever customised art resource presents the theme for April ’09 – Vichitra which is a series of stunning and original masterpieces in the popular genre of abstract art.
Exlaining the theme further, Mr Magar owner of Magnitude said that “Abstract paintings have designs, shapes or colors that do not look like specific physical objects. Indeed, when you look at an abstract painting, you often have no idea what it is you are actually seeing. The idea of art for art's sake – that art should be purely about the creation of beautiful effects. The idea that art can or should be like music – that just as music is patterns of sound, art's effects should be created by pure patterns of form, colour and line have been the guiding force behind creating every single original painting that is on display.”
Talking further about the theme he said that “The idea that abstract art, to the extent that it does not represent the material world, can be seen to represent the spiritual. In general abstract art is seen as carrying a moral dimension, in that it can be seen to stand for virtues such as order, purity, simplicity and spirituality. Such is the power of abstract art as it grows on the viewer & newer dimensions emerge from the same painting thereby making the painting even more cherished.”
There is a lot more to abstract art than what meets the eye, and to see why, we have to consider the basic purpose of art. To truly appreciate a work of art, you need to see it as more than a single, isolated creation: there must be context. Although normally the painting depends on the skill and desires of the artist, we at Magnitude Gallery make a great effort to ensure that what you see on the canvas reflects & enriches the environment in which the art is kept.
