About Pratikriyaa's Mamamouchi: 'Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme' is a play by Jean Baptiste Moliere . It remains to be one of Moliere's greatest works till date. The play is a satire about how the easily influenced middle classes are blinded by the glamour, vanity and the perceived high status of the upper classes and try to indulge in mindless social climbing The play is set in 17th century France, where a rich man from the middle class, Jourdain has a penchant for becoming a "gentleman".The story bases itself around Jourdain and his desperate antics to abandon his middle class status for a more "distinguished" upper class demeanour.
