Benson Town

Benson Town    
It was around 1883 that Benson Town came to figure in the Bangalore map. The area is in the north- eastern side of the city.

Benson town is situated between Pulikeshi Nagar (Fraser town), JayaMahal Extension, and Pottery town. Basaveshwara Main Road ( Milllers road), Netaji  road and Cinnappa Garden road are the  major roads connecting this place to other areas. Cantonment railway station is the nearest railway station.

This locality is a residential area, with small scale industries in the surrounding. From Benson town important places like Shivaji Nagar, Commercial Street, Brigade road, and MG road are easy to access.   

The historically enriching Jayamahal Palace is situated in close proximity to Benson town. The important office of state government and central government such as Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation, Railway Recruitment Board and National Cottage Emporium are situated here.

Some of the educational institutions of Benson town are Quwwatul Islam PU College, United Theological College, Jeeva Christian College and Indian Social Institute. (see more)
