I am currently MindTree's CKO with global responsibilities for Innovation, Knowledge Sharing, Collaboration, and Reuse. Prior to heading MindTree's Knowledge Management Function, I was heading the Offshore Delivery for all US-based accounts in MindTree's IT Services Business. I have also been involved in MindTree's organizational excellence initiatives (PCMM and CMMi) as assesor, function area representative, and process owner.
I have enjoyed my job as CKO. KM is a mission to me, and I love all the challenges that go with this complex trend-setting endeavor. KM is to the Knowledge Age, what TQM was to the Indutrial Age. It is elevating to watch this new area unfold. Though far from easy, if done right, KM can be hugely impactful. After only 3 years of doing this fulltime (and 2 years part-time), I led MindTree to become the youngest company to get a MAKE Award in 2006, and in 2007 the overall MAKE winner in India and in 2008 got the Asian MAKE Award, ranked in Top 10 in Asia. We have also been rated in the top 12% of all companies rated worldwide, using Intellectual Capital Sweden's IC Rating methodolody and won the NASSCOM Innovation Award 2007 for our Knowledge Ecosystem. The Knowledge Management practices at MindTree are highly regarded as holistic and innovative, with great socio-technical solutions.
I have a passion for learning and have had the luxury of having a variety of roles, both technical and managerial, in both US and India. I started my career in software engineering and decision sciences, then moved onto the systems integration and consulting industry, with a focus on Object Technology. After technically oriented roles, I moved onto the managerial and executive track. I love variety and have been quite lucky to land a spectrum of great roles working on a wide variety of applications. Working in both US and India has given me great appreciation for cultural diversity and challenges that go with globally distributed teams and businesses.
